The Oak that is used in the manufacture of this Log Store is sourced from FSC woods in North Yorkshire. It is then cut and machined by our craftsmen to produce the boards and oak frame timbers. ALL of the log store is solid English Oak which we all know, "last's a lifetime". It is Green Oak which allows us to machine and work with it. It will eventually fade to a grey colour and weather. Cracks may appear over time as well as a little warping, but this is completely natural and will only enhance the overall look of the store, it does not detract from the stregnth of the Log Store.
To compliment the Oak we have added a slate roof. The slate tiles that we use are a composite material. This is because real slate would not stand being transported as a solid roof, it would crack and break. Each slate tile is individually nailed to the roof timbers and you cannot tell the difference between real slate and the composite slate.
Every tile that we use is guaranteed for 50 years. The roof is framed and braced with solid oak timbers.
The Oak log store has been designed to encourage nature to naturally dry and season freshly split logs and firewood as quickly as possible. In addition to our standard models, we also build Oak log stores to suit your landscape and buildings.
